EFT

(Emotional Freedom Technique)

Also known as Tapping, EFT is a technique best described as a mixture of Chinese acupressure  and modern day psychology.

It is a powerful holistic healing technique that can be used to resolve a range of issues and can be performed anywhere, anytime.

Similarly to acupressure, EFT works on the meridian points which are passageways in the body that energys flow through.

By tapping on these specific points and talking through the issue, it sends calming signals to the amygdala which is the part of the brain that controls stress. This has been proven to then reduce the amount of cortisol in the body (your stress hormone) .

Does it really work??

Yes it really does! Not only do I use it daily and get my clients to do so as well, there are lots of studies and trials taking place all over the world which are proving a variety of benefits that occur when tapping is done correctly.

One study in Australia done on a large group of people showed a 43% reduction in cortisol after just 1 hour of tapping.

Another study showed EFT to be an effective treatment for war veterans who suffer from PTSD. So much so that after the trial had ended, over half of the participants were no longer classed as having PTSD.

Using EFT with my clients

As an EFT Practitioner, I incorporate tapping into my career coaching sessions where appropriate to overcome confidence issues and reframe negativity.

I offer 1-1 EFT sessions on their own to support people with a range of issues from anxiety, pain, phobias, fears, sports performance and confidence issues.

By working with me, I can support you to get a deeper understanding of your situation and where the particular issue has stemmed from. Tapping on these deeper thoughts and emotions in the subconscious will give you a more profound shift.

The cost of a 1-1 session is £60

One of the simplest ways to perform EFT is this 5 step process:

Step 1

Identify the issue

Spend time working out what the issue is and also identify the words and emotions around it.

Step 2

Check the intensity

Give the situation an intensity number of how you feel from 1 - 10.

Step 3

The set up

Go through a process of verbally setting up the situation whilst tapping the karate chop point and speaking through the issue to acknowledge it and accepting yourself.

Step 4

The sequence

Follow the 9 point tapping sequence whilst speaking through words and phrases related to the issue both negative and positive.

Step 5

Check the intensity

Check back in with the intensity to see if the number has now lowered.
